Beginner Yoga Series with Cristina Roy

This beginner series is perfect for those who have been curious about yoga but didn't want to walk into a class without any experience. In this three week series you will learn the basics of yoga with other beginners in a welcoming environment. We will work on a complete yoga experience that combines poses, relaxation, breath work and meditation to revitalize the body, mind and spirit.

Cristina is a dedicated Iyengar yoga practitioner with a passion for helping her students achieve equanimity and ease in their body through yoga.  Her teaching is thorough and purposeful, guiding students through a safe and systematic succession of poses (asana).  Through her clear demonstrations of the postures, students develop an understanding of correct body alignment.  Props such as blankets, blocks and belts are used as an aid to deepen learning and adjust postures to individual needs.  Cristina is focused yet lighthearted, allowing students to feel comfortable and find purpose working on their own practice.  Her teaching focuses on form which in turn directs awareness to the body. She believes that in working towards alignment in the body we develop equanimity in the mind and in life. Cristina is a graduate of the BKS Iyengar Yogamala Teacher Training Program where she trained with senior teacher Patricia Walden in Boston, MA and is completing her Yoga for Backcare and Scoliosis certification with Alison West in NYC.  To learn more please visit
